There is a common misconception about dermal fillers that we frequently hear from our patients in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach. Many worry that fillers will make the face look round, "puffy," or unnatural.
At Beverly Hills Wellness Center & Med Spa, we believe in a different approach. When performed with artistic precision, fillers do not just add bulk. They work to naturally define features, replace lost structural support, and can actually create a slimming, contoured effect. It is not about changing who you are. It is about restoring the version of yourself that looks rested, hydrated, and vibrant.
Understanding Dermal Fillers: Hyaluronic Acid and Beyond
To understand how we achieve these results, it helps to know what is in the syringe. Most of the fillers we utilize, such as the Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, and Versa collections, are made of hyaluronic acid (HA).
Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in your body. Its primary role is to hold moisture, which is why these fillers are excellent for making the skin appear hydrated and rejuvenated.
However, not all fillers are created equal. We also offer biostimulators like Sculptra and Radiesse, as well as long-lasting options like Bellafill. These products work differently by stimulating your body's own collagen production to restore structure over time. During your consultation, we will determine which product viscosity and composition is appropriate for your specific anatomy and aesthetic goals.
Facial Balancing and Restoration
As we age, we lose volume in specific areas of the face, such as the cheeks, temples, and under the eyes. This can lead to shadowing and a tired appearance. We use fillers to strategically replace this volume.
Cheeks and Jawline: A well-defined jawline and lifted cheekbones add structure to the face. Firmer fillers, such as Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lyft, can be used to contour the jaw or lift the cheeks, creating a more youthful "V" shape.
The Eyes: For hollows under the eyes (tear troughs) that no amount of concealer can hide, a soft filler like Restylane or Belotero can reduce shadowing and brighten your entire look.
The Lips: Whether you want subtle hydration or a plush look, we use specific products like Versa Lips, Juvederm Volbella, or Juvederm Ultra to enhance shape and symmetry without overfilling.
Preparing for Your Appointment
To ensure the best possible results, we recommend a few simple pre-treatment steps. It is best to avoid alcohol and blood thinners, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for 24 to 48 hours before your appointment to minimize the risk of bruising.
We also suggest scheduling your workout for the morning of your appointment. We advise against vigorous exercise for 24 hours after receiving dermal fillers to allow the product to settle and reduce swelling.
Post-Treatment Care and Longevity
The beauty of dermal fillers is the immediate gratification. You will walk out of our West Palm Beach clinic seeing a difference. However, we generally recommend avoiding salty foods immediately following treatment to minimize swelling.
You can typically return to your normal routine the day after treatment. Depending on the specific product used—whether it is a hyaluronic acid filler or a biostimulator like Sculptra—results can last anywhere from six months to over a year.
At Beverly Hills Wellness Center & Med Spa, our goal is for your results to go nearly unnoticed. We want people to notice that you look refreshed and radiant, not that you have had "work" done.
